The Rochester Community and Technical College football team is gearing up for next week's season opener and will travel to Northfield today to face St. Olaf in a scrimmage.
The Yellowjackets have had intra-squad scrimmages but this is the first time they will be facing another team since practice began.
"Just try to polish up and we get to hit someone other than our own team," RCTC coach Derrick Hintz said of competing against the full St. Olaf squad.
Hintz said both the Yellowjackets and St. Olaf could have a number of players miss the scrimmages. RCTC had to hold 26 players out of practice on Wednesday because of injuries, bumps and bruises. Two RCTC players have also required knee surgery.
"We are really banged up right now," Hintz said. "Especially on the offensive line and at linebacker."
RCTC opens the regular season next Friday against Northland Community College at St. Cloud State.

Alex Meyer of the United States finished 10th in the men's open-water marathon in swimming at the recently completed Summer Olympics held in London.
Meyer was born in Rochester and lived here the first seven years of his life. He then moved to the state of New York.
Meyer was hoping to medal in the event, but when he got caught in with a pack of swimmers he dropped out of medal contention.
The event was also an emotional one for him. Meyer's friend, Fran Crippen, had drowned two years ago during a World Cup race in the Middle East. Meyer was also competing in the event and noticed that Crippen was missing during the race.
Follow Crippen's death, the sport has tried to add more security to assure the safety of the swimmers.
